Arab Historical Society August meeting with Edwin Cooley

The Arab Historical Society invites the community to join them for their August meeting at the Arab Historical Park where the will be joined by Edwin Cooley who will be sharing more about his career with Arab City Schools. Edwin Cooley had a long career in the Arab City School System, spanning from September 1969 to November 2007. He served as a teacher, principal of three Arab schools, and school system superintendent for 10 years. His mother, Sue Cooley, was also deeply involved with the Arab school system, and his late father, James Cooley, was a long-time principal and acting superintendent.
After retiring from the school system, Edwin Cooley became an Insurance Producer/Benefits Consultant at Collateral Educator Benefits, starting in February 2008 and continuing to the present. He is married to Jimmie Ann Cooley. His mother, Annie Sue Cooley, passed away in November 2014 at the age of 86. He has two children: Kristi Bowling and Keith Cooley.
Other Activities: He was involved with the Southern Regional chapter of the NBHA (National Bird Hunters Association) and served as treasurer. He has also been involved in farm subsidy programs.
